- Local Rate: Applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles (-$25 to regular and OT bill rates)
- OSF Call Off Policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift
- Non-billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours, guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation

Beds: 54 beds (2 semi private).
- Nurse: Patient Ratios: Day shift 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6.
- Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS.
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, any neuroscience, some medical
overflow.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have level 1 trauma experience, must have previous travel experience (no first time
travelers), must have prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin titrated drip based on PTT- must have heparin gtt experience.
- Is there a Charge Nurse &/or House Supervisor on each shift Does the charge nurse take an assignment: Charge nurse 24/7 , do
not take assignment unless short and nurses would be above ratios. We also have a house supervisor 24/7.
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit Ratios Duties: Yes, days 1:9-10, evening 1:9-10 and night 1:10-12.
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, Bipap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot: High flow
for stable COVID only (very rare), we don t get a lot of COVID on this unit but do sometimes.
- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit Are RNs required to read their own strips What brand are the tele monitors: House
wide telemetry so nurses do not need to read strips. Phillips monitors.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 12's for nurses, one shift, try to meet requests, will block if it is possible with staffing.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend both shifts.
- Holiday Requirement: Every other.
- Is there Call or a Standby requirement: No
- Floating Requirements: Float in rotation with rest of staff. General unit traveler floats to general unit floor - takes full team. If
floated outside of general unit, in case of urgent need, would only do skills competent to do & be assigned with a nurse trained
for that particular unit.
- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided: No scrub color requirement, tattoos covered while on duty, no piercings besides ears.
- Unit/Department specific orientation: 2 days for orientation, computer, unit specific etc. with educator and 1 caring for patients
with a preceptor.
