# of beds 24 beds - 2 double rooms for the Chest Pain Center
Ratios Days 1-4, Nights 1:4-5
Required Certifications BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
Common diagnoses/Types of patients COPD, CHF, Post cath, pacer, ablation, A-Fib RVR, TEE- Cardioversions bedside, PE, Covid, Sepsis, CVA, TIA, STEMI, nonstemi, Hypertensive urgency, head injury, dedicated Chest Pain Center - CP R/O - Stress test
Experience or 'Must have' skills Must have 1 year PCU experience and experience titrating drips. Must be a team player and kind human.
Are RNs required to titrate drips Yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips Heparin, Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Set rate - precedex, Dopamine, Dobutamine.
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Yes
Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios Yes
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) BiPap, Cpap
Is there tele on this unit Monitor techs RNs read strips Monitor techs assisting, however nurses will also assist and must be competent in strip interpretation.
Shifts & Scheduling 3 12's: 7a - 7:30 pm / 7 pm - 7:30 am
Will consider block schedules, including every weekend, as long as the needs of the unit are met but not a guarantee
Weekend Requirement Every 3rd weekend
Holiday Requirement Rotated with perm staff
Is there a call or standby requirement No
Floating Requirement Yes. Would float to Medsurg, ortho, oncology, ICU to take overflow.

Additional Notes This is a busy face pace unit. Quick turnovers, heavy cardiac, higher acuity patients.
Please inform traveler it is important to remember to return the Vocera, locator badge, & other unit equipment at the end of each shift. Can be charged for lost equipment.
