Start Date: 05/04/2026 Contract length: 12 weeks Shift/Hours: 3x12 Nights (20:00-08:30) License/certs required: RN MD state license, BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS #rooms/beds: 27 with 27 beds Avg Census: 26 patients Patient Age Range: Adults, Geriatrics Patient Diagnoses: Major diagnoses represented in our patient population include Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Gastrointestinal Bleeding, End Stage Renal Disease, Cardiac Dysrhythmias, and electrolyte imbalances which require cardiac monitoring. Patients who are chronically ventilator dependent are part of 4 West s patient population, as are patients receiving peritoneal dialysis. Special Procedures/Unit Details: Peritoneal dialysis and Bedside thoracentesis Special Equipment: Viking lift, sit to stand, EKG, Zoll, vac dressing Scrub Color: dark Blue
Weekends: every other weekend required Holidays: required as they fall, as scheduled Floating: required within the specialty sister units, and lower acuity as needed On-Call: pre-scheduled on-call shifts not required

Local rule: Locals under 50 miles are not allowed. Candidates permanent residence must be 50 miles or over from the hospital that they are submitting for.
Candidates will float within hospital travelers are first to float, Candidates must be comfortable floating with no restrictions or special requests as long as it within their experience scope
Return Traveler Policy: Note if return traveler so we can run through staffing contact, candidate must be away for at least 6 months from the system
Return Staff Policy: Note if the traveler was formerly staff at the UMMS health system as well will check their eligibility to return. All former staff much be gone for 12 months before they can return as a traveler.
Extensions Most locations will allow for one contract and one extension and then the traveler must take a 6-month break before they can return to that facility/unit. In some cases, exceptions can be made but it is rare.
